New Android Technology

The growth of the Android company will not slow down anytime soon. This growing company will continue to develop new products and features. Some of these features include “Tonal spot” colors, Beacon-based notifications, Daydream, and KNOX. In addition to these new features, Android continues to improve existing products as well. Any company or small business looking to create an app, should certainly consider developing an Android app before delving into the world of iOS. Ronas IT, a leader in design and development of apps for SMEs, stresses that Android technology is only going to grow. The new and advanced technology will allow Android devices to provide users with the latest breakthroughs.

KNOX

Unlike other security solutions for Android, KNOX has been baked into the hardware, which helps prevent data from falling into the wrong hands. While there are plenty of software-based add-ons available, this solution addresses several major security issues in the Android ecosystem. “Knox is the first hardware-based security solution for Android,” says Jeff Bardin, chief intelligence officer at consultancy Treadstone 71.

In addition to providing secure boot, Knox devices will feature SE Android, an implementation of SE Linux developed by the NSA. They will also use TrustZone technology, built into the ARM Cortex-A processor. The companies are also working to comply with federal and department of defense guidelines when creating their software.

“Tonal spot” colors

Android users will soon be able to choose from three new “tonal spot” colors. These colors include Vibrant, Expressive, and Spritz. The “tonal spot” colors will allow users to add supplemental accent colors to their screens without compromising the monochromatic theme of the OS. Another new feature is the ability to pin search results to the home screen. This feature will allow users to quickly view all search results without leaving the home screen.

Google is working on improving the dynamic theme system introduced in Android 12 Beta. These themes can change the system colors and icon themes. While these themes are only available on Google’s Pixel smartphones for now, other manufacturers are working on similar technology, so the new features may become available on more phones in the future. Besides the “Tonal spot” color theme, Android 13 will offer several new color schemes for users to choose from.

Beacon-based notifications

Beacon-based notifications work on iPhones and Android devices. Beacons are Bluetooth Low Energy devices that can be detected by your device and can wake up relevant apps when you approach the device. Android devices don’t have operating system-level management for beacons, so apps have to constantly scan for the devices and run. That uses more battery power.

In addition to detecting where you are, beacons can also make it easier to customize your notifications. They can be used to track your location and prioritize offers based on your in-app inputs. They can also be used for payments on smartphones, including Google Pay and Apple Pay. They are compatible with both payment terminals and smartphones, allowing you to pay for goods and services in a new way. These features make fraud detection easier, and they’re less likely to result in account hijacking.

Google System Updates framework

Google is rolling out an update to Android that will make the operating system more secure and modular. The update will also introduce new developer features and system management services. You can check if you’ve received the update by visiting Google Play. To install the update, you should have Android 10 or higher.

Google System Updates will be available to Android 10 and 11 devices. Some of the modules will be delivered as an APEX package, while others will be in an APK container. The update will be available for download on the device and will appear as a notification asking you to restart the device. Some of these updates will include security patches and firmware updates.
